Steve Moddemeyer

Steve ModdemeyerSteve Moddemeyer is Associate Principal for CollinsWoerman, where he leads the sustainable development line of business. His work links urban design and urban infrastructure with green infrastructure and climate adaptation. His team integrates strategic design into new development proposals to create inspiring, productive, and innovative environments that build community. He works with public and private clients to hardwire sustainability into planning, architecture, interiors, and urban design. Steve is the principle author of the “Seattle Green Factor” a new landscape regulation for Seattle’s commercial areas that increases the quality and quantity of vegetation in dense urban areas. He developed the sustainable infrastructure strategies for the City of Seattle as well as the award-winning Salmon Friendly Seattle program to inspire citizen participation in salmon friendly practices. A graduate of the University of Washington’s Landscape Architecture program, Steve has also worked as an urban designer helping urban, suburban and rural communities recapture the vitality of their downtown districts.

Steve is active in the International Water Association and other non-profit organizations and is often invited to speak at international conferences and symposia that focus on urban sustainability, water, and the future of cities.
